LipoSelection™ is a new method of helping patients rid themselves of fat that is resistant to a healthy diet and exercise routine. This type of fat elimination is different because areas surrounding the fat, such as tissues, blood vessels and nerves, are not impacted by the procedures. Dr. Brian Joseph provides this revolutionary liposuction procedure in his Winter Park, Florida, Park Avenue Plastic Surgery practice.
The LipoSelection Difference
The LipoSelection method utilizes Vaser System technology. This patented approach pinpoints fatty areas and causes them to dissolve through ultrasound vibrations. Thus, very little to no pain and/or bruising results with this procedure. LipoSelection works well on areas such as the stomach or thighs and is also effective for the chin, neck and arms.
LipoSelection is a great solution for people who are close to or at their ideal weight, but may have accumulated extra fat in some specific areas. A benefit of the LipoSelection treatment process is that patients can receive a much lesser degree of sedation and are actually awake. Sometimes, just a local anesthetic, or numbing cream, is applied to accomplish the procedure. During your consultation, Dr. Joseph can help you determine the right method of anesthesia for your needs. This allows for faster recovery and also helps Dr. Joseph improve your outcomes because he can communicate with you.
Another reason patients can recover more rapidly is that Dr. Joseph is able to leave blood cells and nerves that encompass the treatment area untouched. Just as in other types of liposuction, soreness, bruising and swelling can occur following treatment, but any pain symptoms are typically kept under control easily with over-the-counter medicines.
If you maintain a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating patterns, LipoSelection can continue to enhance your physical form for up to 10 years into the future. People who undergo LipoSelection can generally return to work 3-4 days after surgery.
Possible Vaser Complications
Because Vaser LipoSelection is protective of body tissues, patients undergo less pain and reduced side effects than with other alternative liposuction techniques. Liposuction complications of a serious nature are quite rare. Blood clots can possibly form and these could potentially travel to the lungs, bringing on serious illness—again, this is extremely rare. Dr. Joseph will carefully monitor any fluid loss that results from liposuction, so this should not be a concern.
