How Should I Prepare for GentleMax Pro Laser Hair Removal?

The effectiveness of laser hair removal requires the presence of the hair’s root for the absorption of laser energy. Because of this, patients will need to cease any hair-removal method that removes the hair’s root, such as waxing or depilatory creams, for four to six weeks before laser treatment.

Avoiding exposure to the sun is also recommended for four weeks before treatment. The laser is drawn to pigmentation, so preventing any changes in skin tone color from the sun will promote maximum absorption of the laser light into the melatonin of the hair.

Shaving beforehand is fine and necessary on the day of laser treatment before arriving, since the hair’s root is preserved. If laser treatment is to be used in the armpit areas, do not use deodorant after shaving.
